Bella is looking for a special someone she can shower with all her love & loyalty!
Bella bonds VERY strongly to one person. She wants to be with her owner every moment, and truly obeys only that one leader. She is very affectionate – she loves giving gentle kisses, and getting tummy rubs. She is serious, not overly friendly nor aggressive in public (a true working dog archetype.)
Bella is a spayed female, ~2 years old, 68lbs of muscle, cropped ears and natural tail, a stunning impressive black brindle with a very regal bearing in public. Bella is a rare Presa Canario, a notoriously tough fearless breed. For accurate info about Presas, see:
http://www.realpresa.com/temperament.htmBella has been well socialized. She “worked” with her previous foster at Petsmart, sitting behind the counter and quietly greeting customers on command. Bella likes meeting children, getting petted or getting treats. However, due to her dominance, she would be better in a home without children. She loves her foster dog brothers, and she loves playing at a big doggie daycare. However she still has a strong prey drive, and plays too rough for little dogs or cats that run away fast.
Bella is a dominant breed, and she is also a particularly stubborn dog – although playful and charming. She will require an owner who will not indulge her or let her get away with anything. She respects a strong (not abusive) leader. Bella WILL NOT be adopted to ANYONE who practices treat-based, positive reinforcement training – this method will cause her to become insecure and aggressive.
Bella has been through a Board & Train program, and knows 25 commands although she will require strong reinforcement. Owner gets 2 privates and a lifetime of obedience classes at American Dog School in Adams County Colorado.
