If the man had said he was homeless or darn near okay then the dog needs a home.  Divorce though traumatic as it may be is not sufficient reason IMO.  Not that a dog could ever replace children (for me anyways), but we can't just get rid of kids because of divorce.  I am not judging him, but again his reasoning sounds a little weak.  To me it's just about making an adjustment.  That dog loves him and would most likely give his last breath for him.  Hey I don't think my son would even do that...what did I say about replacing kids with dogs again? Roll Eyes  Find a way to keep your best friend, it's worth it!!

As much as people giving up their animals bothers me, truly makes me ill in most cases, unless we are in their shoes we can't judge them. We never know when one of us could find ourselves in a situation that would force us to do the same. We don't know this story...I feel it unfair in this scenario to judge this man. We don't know the history of his divorce, divorce has been known to create a train wreck of people lives. I am not condoning his decision to give away/sell his dog, just won't pass judgement in this situation.
Now some people in fact the ppl that rented our basement, have decided to move out and into a place where they can only have 1 small dog. So bye bye Neesha the Valley Bull. They make me livid. They are just "getting rid" of their dog because it is an inconvenience now. In fact they have already replaced her with 2 cats... I can't wait for them to leave, I am so disgusted I won't even speak to them. Selfish. Had I have known they were that sort of ppl I never would have rented to them.  !@#$ !@#$ !@#$
Those are the ppl I save my anger for.

Yeah, it really just sounds like this person is looking for an excuse to ditch the dog. It just doesn't seem like a valid enough excuse...er... reason to me.  You live in a townhouse, okay get out an walk him, duh!!  I hope he finds a wonderful home though.

I  will have to  just say in some circumstances  yes the dog is better off if u can find a good home butttttttt  Normal people not people who have be come ill or are ill  disreguard    a dog adapts to your household  if its less or more the dog adjusts just like a person does .  lame excuse  that a family cant give the exercise or time after 5 years it took them 5 years  peole can boo me but hell no  lame ass excuses for giving up ur dog who loves u  i hope he finds a better home and never looks back period  people in rescue take a hard line on giving up a dog

This is similar to what I had to do with my dog, Carmen. I couldn't provide her the love and attention and care that she needed, so in her best interest, I found her another home. I can unerstand where he's coming from in that he wants the best for his dog, and it's a terrible feeling, trust me, I know. If i could, I would adopt him in a heart beat! Even if it meant spending a whole paycheck to get him to me. But alas, the army prevents me.....He's so beautiful though!

I have found that Corsos on Craiglist go pretty fast.  I think he'll find a home, no problem.

I saw this on Craigslist today. I wish I could take him. He sounds like a great dog.

Vader is 5 years old, neutered, and approx 130lbs. He is loving, playful, silly and at times makes you laugh a lot. He has been a wonderful member of the family for all these years. He is full of energy, likes to run and goof around. Very protective and will be a great guard for your house. Loves kids and is very sweet towards them, but remember he is a big dog and should be supervised around small children all the time; just like any dog should be. Vader has been around other dogs all his life, but only female dogs, he is also great with playing with small dogs and will let them do whatever they want: chew on his ears, pull on his skin etc. Loves being petted, resting his head in your hand and will gladly give you a kiss if you let him. Can walk or run along with you and can go for a long distance without quickly getting tired (if you feel like exercising with him).
As with any large powerful dog, Vader needs constant and consistent training. He is trained with both verbal and hand signals.
You may be asking why I am trying to find Vader a new home. In all honesty I do not want to. My Ex-Wife no longer wanted him and was going to take him to the pound where I was sure he would be put down. I was hoping to be able to wait and take him when I was able to be in a place where I had a yard where I could play with him; unfortunately I live in a townhouse, where I thought I would be able to still provide him a good home. I have found that I just do not have enough of a yard nor the time to be able to ensure he gets enough activity. Vader deserves a home where he can get plenty of exercise and activity. He loves to chase balls and bones all over the place; with a decent size yard he would be much happier.
